CREATING YOUR DENTURES
When you visit Caledon Denture Clinic for your complimentary consultation you will be introduced to a highly trained Denturist. He will ask you many questions to assess your current situation.
We will explain what he can do for you in terms of fit, function, and aesthetics (the look of your denture). This appointment will give you the opportunity to meet the Denturist and find out what procedures and materials he can offer you.
We consider many factors in order to make you a comfortable denture. The condition of the tissues, bone structure and shape, and size of the mouth. Your age, sex, personality and skin tone are all taken into consideration when selecting teeth, thus creating a unique denture for each individual.
In constructing your dentures we use only the finest materials and latest techniques. We take the time necessary to achieve the best possible results.
It is common for most clients to visit the office between 4 to 5 visits.
The construction procedures the Denturist uses are critical in creating functional dentures.
These procedures are never compromised. The minimum procedures we offer to create your dentures are:
-
PRELIMINARY IMPRESSIONS.
-
FINAL IMPRESSIONS.
-
BITE REGISTRATION & TEETH SELECTION.
-
WAX TRY-IN.
-
COMPLETION.
-
48 HOURS POST-INSERTION.

ABOUT US
Ryan Assal
Since 1993, Ryan Assal has been a professional dental/denture technologist and has worked in professional labs throughout England, the Middle East, and Canada. Through this global experience, he has mastered the craft of not only making dentures but also manufacturing crowns, bridges, and orthodontics.
In 2000, he surpassed his employers and opened his own clinical lab and continues to provide technical services to nearly two dozen dentists around the Greater Toronto Area.
Since 2005, it was strongly encouraged that Ryan ‘open up shop’ and craft dentures directly to patients.
In 2008, Ryan opened the doors to the Caledon Denture Clinic and is molding dentures designed for that perfect fit.
Ryan takes great pride in the quality of his work, his commitment to customer care and level of service he provides his clients.
. . . Now, THAT's something to smile about!
Melissa Petrucci
Melissa graduated Fanshawe College in 2009 and has been practicing ever since.
She is trying to change the way we care for our mouths using scientific evidence and cases to alter and make recommendations that are suitable for everyone’s individual needs.
She is able to recognize that people today have busy schedules and is able to find suitable oral aids that will help their oral health to be at its full potential, while not having to make such time and effort in doing so; by having short and effective intervals versus long and ineffective care at home.
Melissa will give you dietary recommendations based on your dietary routines on how to reduce your risks of future oral issues that could potentially be avoidable saving you pain and suffering later in life.
Dental Hygiene is one of the only healthcare professions who’s main focus is Prevention and not treatment; she has the ability to see a potential for risks in the future and how they can be avoided by changing habits now.
Rest assured, Melissa’s enthusiasm for Dental Hygiene will ensure that every visit is a pleasant one!

“Ryan is a very dedicated and highly qualified dental technologist. I have known Ryan for many years and trust him for all of my dental work. Now, he has expanded his practice to include denturism. As a result, he has become valuable – not only to me, but also the community!”
“Thank you Denturist Ryan Assal for speaking with me about mini-dental implants and sending me to Dentist Robert Penning. I have now the ability to chew everything and I don't hold back on my smile anymore. Mini implants are a excellent solution for the problem of loose fitting dentures. I highly recommend it. Thank you for your professionalism, your warmth and your constant attention.“

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS IT USUAL TO DEVELOP A SORE SPOT UNDER MY NEW DENTURES?
It is very common to return to your Denturist because of a "sore spot." Your natural gums were not meant to have hard plastic resting on them as dentures do. These sore spots are normal and can be relieved by a few small adjustments. As your mouth becomes accustomed to the dentures, the sore spots should gradually lessen. It is important that you do not try to adjust your denture by yourself. You may jeopardize the fit, function, and guarantee of your Dentures.
I’M FINDING IT HARD TO CHEW WITH MY NEW DENTURES, WHAT CAN I DO?
Becoming comfortable with eating may take some practice, as a denture is essentially a hard-plastic appliance used to replace as many as 32 living teeth. When first wearing new dentures, avoid hard foods in favor of a diet of soft and non-fibrous foods. Try taking smaller bites and chewing gently to prevent dentures from becoming loose. You will need to gradually introduce more solid foods to your diet, in order to avoid discomfort and sore spots. With practice and patience, you will soon be able to enjoy most foods!
WILL DENTURES AFFECT MY SPEECH?
At first, you may notice subtle differences in your speech, such as a lisp. By practicing reading out loud and enunciating clearly, you will quickly become used of your new dentures and how to speak with them.
I’VE BEEN HAVING DIFFICULTY WEARING MY LOWER DENTURE. WHY IS THAT?
Lower dentures generally require more time to get used to. This is because your tongue, cheeks, and lower jaw muscles must all learn to work with your new appliance. As well, there is much less ridge for your denture to adhere to, which makes them feel looser than the upper denture.
